Amsterdam, 2009
Materials used: computer; speakers; wireless sound system; timer
Location: drawbridge at the Kinkerstraat
In average twenty times a day bikers and pedestrians are waiting for an opened drawbridge in Amsterdam. A drawbridge was changed into a moving sound sculpture called ‘Android’. Four contemporary composers were invited to write a piece that was united with the movement of the bridge.
From the moment the bridge opens till it closes for navigation traffic, music was sounding.
